Amazónia - Toucan Vase
To conceive the Amazónia collection, Bordallo Pinheiro collaborated with the Brazilian NGO Ecoarts Amazónia. The organization aims to preserve the environmental, cultural, social and scientific heritage of the Amazon, and therefore has shared its valuable knowledge about the Amazon rainforest for this collection.
The earthenware pieces are inspired by the Amazonian rainforest, where nature reigns and where traditions, vibrant colors, sounds and exotic smells are combined. In the image of the fruits and plants of this region, the bowls, centerpieces, dishes or even pitchers and salad bowls are made with precision.
A part of the recipes of the collection is dedicated to the reforestation of the Amazonian region of Mato Grosso, where Ecoarts Amazónia operates, by planting fruit trees.
This collection was awarded a European Product Design Award - Gold Prize Winner and a German Design Award 2020.
